Why the WWWRA Was Founded
In 1968, a few months after my son was born, I was deployed to the war in Vietnam as a US Marine Captain. My job as a fighter pilot was to drop bombs on our supposed enemy in Vietnam and Laos. At the time I was proud to be a Marine, but over time I learned the truth about the war, the immorality of it, and the effects of the bombs I had dropped. The 178 combat missions I flew indiscriminately killed many people and severely damaged the ecosystem. Bomblets from cluster bombs I dropped over Laos are still scattered across the countryside where, when picked up by an innocent child, they continue to kill or maim. |
