"My name is Larry O’Neal, I am a Marine Corps Reserve/USN veteran. I had part of my right kidney removed due to service-related cancer. Watching our first sunset in Maui we were entertained with so many breaching whales that all you could hear was us and everyone else oohing and awing at the sight of so many breaches. AMAZING!! We had 2 paddleboard lessons and actually surfed some small waves. We enjoyed the Maui Ocean Center, which has an unreal Humpback whale 3D movie experience and is a must see. We went ATV riding in the west mountains, Ziplining on the North Shore and swam at Twin Falls. We enjoyed a drive up to the Haleakala High Altitude Observatory to watch the sunset, Beautiful!! There is much to do on Maui, but one of the best things about Maui is the slow and relaxing pace of everyone and everything. This is a must for every disabled vet who can take advantage of this most spectacular offer from the Wounded Warriors Wave Riders Association."

"Calming, fun, alleviated some stress. Helped me forget about crap. Now when I start to feel overwhelmed with stress, I close my eyes and take myself back to that wonderful experience on the ocean in Maui."

"For a few precious hours I felt stress free, one with the ocean, It was very therapeutic. Knowing I can feel that way again gives me the courage to live."

"The lesson got me on the way to stand-up paddling. So nice to be on the water in the early morning and enjoy the beauty of Maui. Very relaxed at end of session. I can’t remember ever being that relaxed."

“I only have a 10% disability but let me tell you from my own experience, the surfboard instructions provided by Dave Fletcher of the WWWRA is eye opening, fun, challenging, I just can't express all the adjectives to describe it. I had never been on a surfboard before but Dave carefully prepared me for the experience and gently moved me onto the water. I loved it, and I plan to return for more instructions...just as soon as I conquer this bronchitis that has temporarily sidelined me. May I highly recommend his WWWRA class to any Veteran dealing with PTSD or any disability.”
